This video was introduced to me my freshman year. I was having troubles with my roommate in college and just fitting in and finding my niche at my school. I was trying to figure out what exactly could be wrong with me. Well long story short, no ones perfect [and I realized I may need to speak to the school counselor]. My website Girls Like Me inspired the counselor to direct me to this video by Kiri Davis. If you are Black, you can relate to the feelings portrayed in this video. Now that I think about, that's probably what was wrong with me, what is still wrong with me. How will I ever know where I am going if I don't know where I've come from. Check out the video below.

  2. This is so true...and hurts me so much to watch. But at the same time I see it everyday in my community....I don't know what it's going to take to get people to see that they aren't suppose to look like or fit the molds that society has for us, and to be happy in who and what they are as god created them....

  5. I saw this a while back also. I try very hard to break this patteren with my own daughter. I try to show her that brown is just as wonderful! Keep up the good work!
