Finding Joy

Finding Joy  a poem by Elisa Wiah

Joy, For real.
Stop playing!
Where are you?!
I've been looking for you all day.
Well really, all year.
When I get tired of trying to find you,
I just chill with Melancholy.
She's alright, but she ain't nothing like you.
Melancholy, her friendship drains you.
But when you're not there, she just gets me the most.
Happy pops in and out at the right times.
She reminds me of you, but she ain't consistent.
Happy is a kinda-friend to everybody, every now and then.
But kinda-you is better than no you.
